SCS Early Career Scientist Travel Grants STRATI 2026 – June 28 - July 3, 2026

The Subcommission on Cretaceous Stratigraphy (SCS) has a limited number of travel grants of up to 400 US$ available to support attendance of Early Career Scientists (ECS)* presenting papers in Cretaceous Subcommission “Session S10” (https://strati2026.org/page/strati_2026_session_excursions/s10.html/) at STRATI 2026, 5th International Congress on Stratigraphy, 28 June – 3 July, Suzhou, China.

Contributions focusing on the Cretaceous time scale, marine to non-marine correlation, geological events, integrated stratigraphy, and other Cretaceous-related topics are welcome in this session. Applications from ECSs submitting papers on Cretaceous topics to other sessions at the meeting will also be considered.

Applicants must be presenting a talk or poster as first author. Applications should comprise a brief CV, outline costs of attending the meeting, and a written case that clearly explains how participating in the meeting will benefit their course of study and/or the relevance of the meeting topic to their research. Applications should not exceed one side of A4 paper. A copy of the submitted abstract must also be provided.

Applications will be evaluated on the strength of the applicant’s supporting case. Grants will be paid after the presentation has been made at the meeting. They can only be paid into personal bank accounts and are not transferable.

*An ECS is a Masters student, a PhD candidate, or a practising scientist who received the highest qualification (MSc or PhD) within the past seven years.
